Curriculum Design and Active Learning

Facilitator: Kelly Beck, Assistant Director of Service Learning Programs and director of the Science in Service Program at the Haas Center, will share her extensive knowledge and experience in creative curriculum design.

Website Creation for Fuzzies - Developing a Sustainable Online Presence is Fast, Easy, and Free!
Wed 4/30 6:00 – 7:30pm Haas Center DK Room
Topics: If you can use Facebook, you can create and manage a powerful and sustainable website for your student group.  There is absolutely no programming experience necessary!  Learn how to implement a yourstudentgroup.stanford.edu website with OpenSource content management system software.  It's fast, easy, and best of all, FREE!  By the end of this workshop, you will likely have a functional website for your student group.
Facilitator: Junior Christian Tabing (
http://www.stanford.edu/~ctabing) is an MS&E major and web-technology enthusiast.  In addition to co-directing ASES SUMMIT 2008 (http://asessummit.stanford.edu/) he serves as a Research Assistant with the Department of Management Science & Engineering and is currently conducting individually-led research on environments that promote knowledge-building communities. Christian is from Fairfield, CA and enjoys tennis, percussion, graphic and web design, photography, architecture, riddles, and learning about others.

Conflict Resolution

Topics: Learn new tools and approaches for resolving conflicts successfully.
Facilitators: Senior Molly Roberts has been mediating conflicts since she was in middle school, is a certified mediator, and now teaches others how to mediate conflicts.
