Get Connected to Community Service Student Groups
  • Cook and serve breakfast to the homeless with Stanford Project on Hunger (SPOON). Email the breakfast cook coordinator, Dawn at dawnk@stanford.edu to find out more information.
  • Build a house with habitat for humanity. Email stanfordhabitat@gmail.com.
  • Form a team with Relay for Life. Colleges Against Cancer organizes this annual walk during spring quarter to support the American Cancer Society. Check out http://www.acsevents.org/relay/ca/stanford to find out more details.
  • Dance Marathon is a twenty-four long dance-a-thon to raise awareness and money to fight the AIDS epidemic. It’s held annually during the winter quarter. Check out the website http://dancemarathon.stanford.edu to find out more information about how to get involved.
Get connected with other community service groups. Go to http://mygroups.stanford. Click on Advanced search and choose Community Service from the drop down menu.

Get Connected to Local Community Organizations
  • Volunteer with senior citizens. Lytton Gardens is a local senior center that is eager to work with Stanford Students. They are open and flexible with schedules and project ideas. Check out http://www.lyttongardens.org.
  • Want to do an outdoors project? Check out http://ecomagic.org, or http://savethebay.org.
  • Find out about other opportunities on http://volunteermatch.org. Enter our zip code and select group in the advanced search option to see what local needs would be best met with a group of volunteers.
  • Check out http://handsonbayarea.org. It’s easy to become member and sign up for already scheduled group projects.
