Funding is still available for these full-time, quarter-long (8+ week) Cardinal Quarter opportunities. Apply by May 1.

If you are taking part in an internship experience paid by your host organization or your expenses are being covered through another source, you can still be part of the Cardinal Quarter 2018 cohort. Find out more here.

Current opportunities: 

  • JusticeCorps  work in self-help centers throughout the Bay Area, providing legal information for family and civil law cases. Apply here by April 22. Learn more here.

Attend a public service internship preparation workshop.

This workshop series will help you prepare for Cardinal Quarter or any summer public service internship. Each workshop is offered twice per week, on Tuesdays from 4:30pm-5:20pm and Wednesdays from 12:30pm-1:20pm, in the Haas Center for Public Service, DK Room. For more information, contact Valerie Chow (vychow@stanford.edu).

Sign the Cardinal Service Graduation Pledge.

If you're graduating, make the Cardinal Service graduation pledge to continue to work toward a more just and sustainable world—either in jobs or volunteer activities–after you leave campus. Sign the pledge here

Write an honors thesis that benefits the community. 

The Public Service Scholars Program is a year-round program that supports students’ efforts to write a thesis that is academically rigorous as well as informed by and useful to community organizations or public interest constituencies. Anyone in an honors program is eligible. Apply by May 23. Learn more here.

Talk to experts in the field.

Cardinal Careers Thursdays 
Every Thursday, 3:30pm-5:00pm (beginning April 5)
Haas Center for Public Service, DK Room
For eight weeks, a different set of panelists will talk about their career trajectory and tips for landing an internship or job in juvenile justice, global health, impact investing, housing, and more. Receive a notation on your transcript for public service.

Students who complete a Cardinal Quarter or 12+ units of Cardinal Courses are eligible to have these commitments reflected on their academic transcript with the Cardinal Service Notation. Learn more and apply here by April 27.
