Ava Acevedo
Ava Acevedo (she/her) is a rising senior at Stanford from Lodi and Stockton, California. She majors in Public Policy with a Health Care concentration, and minors in Earth Systems, Environmental Justice. Ava’s research focuses on environmental justice policy, as well as how farmworker communities face policy challenges across labor rights, health care, education, and more. She has interned for California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc. (CRLA), U.S. House of Representatives, California Energy Commission, and Public Citizen Foundation. On campus, Ava serves as Issue Area Coordinator (IAC) for Environmental Sustainability (now Lead IAC) and Co-Lead for the Alternative Spring Break course entitled “Farmworker and Immigrant Health.” She also serves as President of Stanford Women in Politics and Vice President and vocalist/guitarist of Mariachi Cardenal. Ava enjoys spending time with her family and friends, taking her dogs for long walks, and watching cartoons with her sibling.
