Isaac Nehring
Isaac Nehring is a senior from Helena, Montana majoring in American Studies and pursuing a coterminal MS in Civil & Environmental Engineering. At Stanford, Isaac leads the Stanford Rural Engagement Network, works on the campus farm, and previously served as an undergraduate senator in ASSU. In 2023, Isaac worked on Capitol Hill for then U.S. Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) while participating in the Stanford in Washington program. Isaac is also a 2025 Truman Scholar nominated by Stanford and representing his home state. Back home in Montana, Isaac has worked in local conservation, Democratic politics, and most recently for the Bill Lane Center as an undergraduate researcher interviewing farmers and ranchers on Central Montana history. In his personal time, Isaac is an avid local skier, hiker, and boater and is involved in camping ministry for the United Methodist Church.
