Luz Lopez
Luz was born and raised in East Palo Alto, and experienced first-hand the challenges of attaining an adequate education due to lack of resources in her community. Her determination and drive motivated her to get involved in programs such as AVID and College Track, which helped her stay on track and become a well-rounded student who was accepted to several 4-year universities.
Luz received an AA in Child and Adolescent Development from Foothill College, and pursued a BA in the same field with a minor in Mexican American Studies. Luz has experience working with children from preschool age up to middle school. Luz loves learning and helping others, and is hopeful that her knowledge and life skills will be useful in her position at the Haas Center.
In her free time Luz loves to spend time with her two daughters and her fiancé. Luz is an avid sports fanatic. When she is not cheering for the Raiders she will be out exploring parks, zoos, and museums with her family.
