Megan Asmar
Megan Asmar and her husband, Michael Asmar ’05, regard education and public service as essential drivers of cultural and social progress. In 2017, they started the Asmar Family Fund, which supports organizations that expand access to quality education, foster innovation in teaching and learning, and open pathways for students from all backgrounds to reach their full potential. Megan maintains an active role in board service and nonprofit volunteer work, most currently serving on the School of Humanities & Sciences Arts Practice Spaces Task Force and the Stanford Impact Labs Task Force, after serving several years on the New York Care's Rising Leaders Council.
In addition to co-managing the Asmar Family fund, Megan continues her family’s multigenerational dedication to philanthropy, working as trustee of several longstanding charitable trusts and scholarship programs with The Cornell University Foundation, The New Haven Foundation, and Northfield Mount Hermon School. Over the past 27 years, these initiatives have funded private high school and college educations for more than 100 deserving students and continue to provide support to 20 nonprofit organizations nationwide, ranging from grassroots community programs to national and international institutions addressing climate change, public health, disaster relief, and social justice.
Before turning her full attention to philanthropy, Megan worked for 15 years cultivating a successful career in interior design, where she managed luxury residential projects for AD100 firms and retail design projects at The Rockwell Group and Andy Spade’s eponymous firm, Partners & Spade.
Megan earned her B.A. in Sociology from Cornell University and her A.A.S. in Interior Design from the New York School of Interior Design.
