Shreya Ramachandran
Shreya is a coterminal masters student studying Sustainability Science and Practice.
Since arriving at Stanford, Shreya Ramachandran has served her peers as Class President for 2025, beginning on Frosh Council and continuing through sophomore, junior, and senior year. She is Co-President of Students for a Sustainable Stanford for the past two years and represents students on the university’s Climate Action Advisory Committee. She has also served on the VPUE student advisory board.
Her research interests are also directed towards public service. Most recently, she has worked on better understanding the linkages between flooding and health impacts in California, and the impact of rising temperatures on global mortality risk.
Shreya is deeply committed to environmental work, championing water conservation through The Grey Water Project, serving on the board of Action for Nature, and collaborating with organizations such as National Geographic and the UN. She has been featured widely for her work including in People Magazine, Good Morning America and PBS.
In the future, Shreya hopes to leverage her background to continue to champion sustainability initiatives to protect human lives and the natural systems that support them.
