As the Cardinal Service Coordinator, Vanessa conducts campus-wide outreach and promotion efforts, advises students on service opportunities, and supports communications in print and digital media.
Vanessa graduated from Stanford with a BA in Human Biology (and a concentration in community health) in 2017. Previously, she served as the student outreach specialist at the Haas Center for two years. While at Stanford, Vanessa participated in Alternative Spring Break; the Public Service Scholars Program; and several Cardinal Courses, including as a community-engaged learning coordinator. In 2017, she created the Stanford Workers Collaborative, a project that uses storytelling to enhance on-campus engagement between students and custodial and dining hall staff, and for which she was recognized with the Merton and Audrey Bernfield Director’s Award for Exceptional Contributions to the Program in Human Biology. She was also a facilitator for Designing Your Life at the Stanford d.school, where she helped students apply design thinking towards a life and career after Stanford.
As a meditation practitioner and a dancer, she enjoys doing extended meditation retreats and hip hop classes in the San Francisco Bay Area.
