Senior Program Director, Cardinal Quarter

Valerie Chow

Valerie Chow joined the Haas Center in January 2015. Valerie manages the Haas Center's Undergraduate Fellowships Program and advises students on Cardinal Quarter opportunities, coordinates recruitment and selection, and facilitates pre-field training and post-field reflection activities. She is also one of the staff liaisons to Stanford In Government.

Prior to joining the Haas Center, Valerie was the Associate Director of the CUNY Service Corps at the City University of New York’s central office. In this role, she helped to launch and manage a university-wide civic engagement and professional development program administered at eight CUNY campuses. Valerie has also served as the Associate Director of Civic Engagement and Experiential Learning at Barnard College’s Office of Career Development, where she managed service-learning programs and an internship grant program and advised students on career development issues.

Before transitioning to the higher education sector, Valerie was a corporate associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP and also spent time volunteering with the New York Legal Assistance Group. Valerie received her B.A. in East Asian Studies and Economics from Brown University and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.

Valerie enjoys spending time with her two young children and her husband. She is also an avid viewer of Korean television dramas.
