Working with Minors
Information for student groups that are hosting or participating in an event that has children under the age of 18 in attendance.
All students and student groups working with children/minors (any person under the age of 18) must meet several requirements designed to protect the youth and Stanford students alike. Basic information about those requirements and links to resources are provided on this page.
If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to email@example.com.
The Live Scan Background Check
A background check is required of all Stanford persons, including students, who are working with minors. The background check is a process called Live Scan. Live Scan is an electronic fingerprinting, which can be done at a variety of locations across California, or at an on-campus free Live Scan session (currently curtailed during the pandemic, but will return when the campus returns to normal operations).
Live Scan Application
If part of a service group, write “Student Service Org” on the line asking for working title.
If part of a Cardinal Course, write "Cardinal Course" on the line asking for working title.
If individual service student, write "Haas, individual" on the line asking for working title.
On-Campus Live Scan Dates
On-campus Live Scan dates are postponed while pandemic protocols are in place.
